Expectations for Students

TSC Advisors will provide a 15-minute grace period before canceling appointments. If you have an online/phone appointment, make sure to find a quiet space where you can meet with your advisor, preferably a space free of distractions and noise.

This will save you time for your appointment when you have all of your required documents ready. Students who are not prepared will have to schedule a follow-up appointment. This can be difficult if you have tight deadlines.

Share with your advisor your academic/career goals so that they can help you be successful at Highline College.

Students will receive a detailed follow up email from your TSC Advisor that will have an overview of what was covered during appointment & next steps/reminders. Please read through this and follow instructions. Contact your advisor if you have any questions or concerns.

TSC Advisors and staff are here to assist you every step of the way, even when you’re feeling frustrated and stressed. We encourage you to treat our team with respect and kindness. Otherwise, you are kindly referred to meet with another department on campus, and no longer able to utilize our department resources.
